On October 25, 2018, we had the pleasure to host in labs of our Nanotechnology Center, Division of Functional Materials and Biomaterials an international group of high school students, from Ignacy Łukasiewicz HS in Police, Poland and David Roentgen School in Neuwied, Germany. We introduced the students to the concept of “polymers" and gave them a tour of our polymer synthesis facilities. Afterwards, they learned about polymer processing and got to make polymer springs by extrusion. Finally, we organized a lab exercise where the students prepared alginate microspheres and tested different cation crosslinkers. These activities were held thanks to the involvement of: dr inż. Agnieszka Piegat, dr inż. Piotr Sobolewski, dr inż. Ewa Wiśniewska, dr inż. Marta Piątek-Hnat and mgr inż. Agata Niemczyk.
